Virtual Assistant - Nurse

Full Time

The Virtual Assistant - Nurse will provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers, clinics, or medical organizations from a remote location. The role requires strong communication skills, medical knowledge, and proficiency in using healthcare software. The nurse will manage patient communication, appointments, and medical records, and provide non-direct clinical advice under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Answer patient queries via phone, email, or chat.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, and reminders.
  • Provide non-direct patient education, such as post-op care instructions or chronic disease management tips.
  • Triage patient calls and escalate medical concerns to healthcare providers when necessary.

Medical Record Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other data privacy laws.
  • Assist with medical coding, billing, and insurance claims as needed.

Administrative Support:

  • Handle electronic prescription refills and prior authorizations under supervision.
  • Assist healthcare providers with documentation during virtual consultations (e.g., updating EHR).
  • Prepare patient reports, medical summaries, and documentation for healthcare providers.

Telemedicine Support:

  • Assist in setting up virtual consultations between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Provide technical support to patients for telehealth platforms.

Clinical Support (Remote):

  • Provide basic health advice, guidance on medication adherence, and chronic disease management under strict protocols.
  • Monitor remote patient management systems (RPM) and report any concerning trends in patient health to the provider.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in telehealth, medical administration, or virtual nursing roles is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and healthcare technology.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, medical coding, and telehealth platforms.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient data.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced virtual environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare software tools such as EHR systems, scheduling software, and patient management platforms.
